Drivers and Health Cards across Canada

Newfoundland offers an X option, and they have options for those 15 and under and 16 and over.

PEI health cards offer M, F, and unknown. Drivers license offers M, F, and X on their drivers ID

New Brunswick health cards do not show gender. I was told drivers licenses are confidential so they can not give that information out, the receptionist refused to transfer me to someone who knows anything about it.

Nova Scotia health cards only offer on the binary. Drivers licenses currently only offer on the binary however the person I talked to believes that legislation is just going through to add a non-binary or X option.

Quebec health cards and drivers licenses currently only offer on the binary, but birth certificates may offer a blank option.

Ontario offers an X option on all ID.

Manitoba does not offer outside of the binary.

Saskatchewan offers the removal of gender from the printed birth certificate, currently the gender markers are still recorded as M or F

Albert Health does not offer anything outside of the binary. Alberta drivers licenses now offer M, F, and X as part of the service alberta changes.

BC does not offer outside of the binary on any form of ID.

Nunavut health cards are currently only offered on the binary. Drivers licenses currently only offer on the binary however adding a non-binary or X option is being looked into by their government.

Northwest Territories health cards do not have a gender marker on them. Drivers licenses gender options are F, M, and X.

Yukon health cards only offer on the binary, however they are in the process of adding an X option. Drivers licenses currently only offer M and F, there is stuff happening to offer options outside of the binary.
