I am so disappointed in Vital Statistics (updated)

Vital Statistics has sent me the paperwork to correct the gender marker on your birth certificate. Just for clarification, it is on the paper only not in there files, it is not published any where. I just had a discussion with SGI and they say they only offer on the binary, I got transferred to a manager after some “discussion.” Saskhealth is looking into what they “have to do or can do.” But here is the option for gender markers on your birth certificate. I would publish the entire document, but I was told I could not. I was only able to get a copy of the form because I am a Commissioner for Oaths and wanted to "know what I would be witnessing."

Tomorrow I will be calling the Vital Statistics offices around Canada to see if the X is recorded every where on there files or just the printed version of the birth certificate. I will also be calling health authorities to find out how they handle the X.

Alberta offers an X option;

BC does not offer outside of the binary.

Manitoba does not offer outside of the binary.

Ontario offers an X option;

I do not speak french so I am unable to figure Quebec out. (Update: I decided to give it a shot and found that quebec only offers on the binary, or blank)

I am waiting on PEI's form, it is unclear as they publish this form. (Update: PEI only offers on the binary, and says there form is on line)

Nova Scotia does not allow outside of the binary, however they do allow people 15 and younger and 16 and over to correct there gender marker.

New Brunswick does not offer outside of the binary, however they do allow people 15 and younger and 16 and over to correct there gender marker.

Newfoundland offers an X option, and they have options for those 15 and under and 16 and over;

Yukon Territory does not offer outside of the binary, however they do allow people 15 and younger and 16 and over to correct there gender marker.

The North West Territories offers an X option, they also have forms for people 19 and older or younger than 19.

I am waiting on Nunavut's form, it is unclear as to if they publish this form. (Update: Nunavut only offers on the binary, I am told the form is online)
