More anxiety releasing writing

I mentioned that I have been recognized for my passion within the trans community from many places around the world to my mother. She took that to mean that I am only doing all of this for recognition, yeah mom I am only passionate about the trans community because I want to say "hey look at me over here!" I have only researched how to change your name and correct your gender marker everywhere in Canada so that people would notice me, not because I know how hard it is and want to make it easier for others. I only became a Commissioner for Oaths, because I wanted to be seen, not because I know how hard it is for someone who is trans to approach someone who is cis for trans related things. I only became an trans activist because I wanted my picture in the paper, not because I know some of the difficulties people who are trans face and want to make them easier. I am only doing constant research in to trans healthcare around Canada because you know it could be fun, not because I know how hard it is for someone to find information they need. I only listen to people who are trans when they are in need because I want them to respect me, not so that I can hopefully have someone who will listen to me when I am in need.

Being trans is a very difficult thing, it is not fun at all. If you would have asked me not to long ago if I could be cis would I? The answer would be yes, I am proud of who I am now. I am not doing this as previously suggested to make friends, or suggested today to be recognized, I could think of probably a trillion and 1 easier ways to do that. I am doing this because this is me, and I am Reann Legge!
