My garden
So I literally tilled half my garden, why half? I hear you asking.
Well you see I was doing it by hand, why by hand? I don’t have any fancy equipment to do it mechanically so by hand it had to be.
Next I hear you asking don’t you live in an apartment town house hybrid condo? To that I say yes all of my gardening is done in pots and large containers. So you are almost ready to do planting yes? I planted potatoes tonight, and I have my tomato hanger ready to get tomatoes and something on top.
So what do I count as tilling? Well I have a three basket setup for compost, the first bucket is for new compost the second bucket is for the compost that has sat in the fist bucket for a year, it gets rotated into there, then the third bucket gets all the very rich dirt for the year, to come. This is the first year I have made it to the third bucket as I discovered people discussing this on YouTube, I knew people did this but always people had yards to do it; but I thought if there is a will there is a way I had a bucket I already used for compost but I needed two more. Because I had not rotated the compost before last spring I had never seen how rich the soil was at the bottom I am glad I am now rotating my compost between tree bins, this spring I got to rotate everything out of the second been and into the third bin. The soil was so rich, so rich that I am going to keep up with the three bucket compost.
