Today’s New Thing

So during the 20*0’s lock downs I went through phases of cleaning my place better. One of those phases was cleaning my toilets better, I had gotten those scrubbing bubbles I followed the directions and repeated as directed. I would later find out that the pads didn’t break down as stated on the box and the chemicals were super bad and difficult to remove from the water. I moved to using citric acid and baking soda, but no real recipe just dump it in and watch it fizzle. Today I decided to follow a recipe and made myself a jar of toilet bowl cleaner. I am super excited about how I am becoming a greener woman.

It all really started a while ago when I ran out of dishwasher detergent and didn’t have money to buy more at that moment. I looked up options for DIY, I found recipes but they needed citric acid so I was stuck doing my dishes by hand oh well. When I had money again I went out to get more dishwasher detergent, but I thought about maybe getting citric acid. I looked at prices and realized it was incredibly less expensive to just make my own. I would later run out of laundry detergent so I thought about making my own, and it did a much better job at cleaning my laundry. I don’t use my dryer for things that I can hang dry so I don’t use many drier sheets, I have bought very few boxes of drier sheets in my adult life. I ran out of drier sheets and having used my homemade laundry detergent I looked up options for DIY drier sheets and have been using those ever sense. I saw some green drier sheet replacement thing, I read the reviews and was all ready to buy them but a cooler mind realized “no I already have a better solution.” I am rather pleased with myself and being a greener woman.
