What does freedom mean to me?

So I just looked at the Jetpack app “just cause!” And the thingy suggested a writing prompt of “What does freedom mean to you?”

I have been working on the Buy Canadian first, if I cannot get it from Canada buy it from somewhere other than the US, if I cannot get it then I have to ask do I really need it? So freedom is me seeing how much of the things the US creates that I do not need that I thought I did. I am currently trying to break out of the walled garden of Apple, it is going rather slowly I did not realize how walled in I really was.

Sure I can do more then the average bear with my iPad and iPhone but still there is a lot that needs to be fixed. Soon I am hoping to be able to backup my iPad and iPhone locally and pay for even less Apple stuff.

I have setup a Wireguard VPN into my LAN so that I am free from ads even when I am away from home. I have setup scripts to download Star Wars and some other media, because I love Star Wars and enjoy other media but I refuse to pay Disney or other US providers for that stuff. Then I have Jellyfin to host the media, I understand that I am stealing from the people working in the media industry but it is something I have to deal with.
